Christmas Short Story Party – Guest Post by Ellen Best
I was thrilled when Ellen Best accepted my invitation to contribute a Christmas Short Story. Ellen is a blogger who I met through Hugh Roberts (Hugh’s View and News). She is a writer and blogger from East Anglia, England in the United Kingdom. She is married, and they live in a converted Victorian school house. In January they are excited to add a rescue puppy to their household. Her husband affectionately told her not to forget to tell everyone she is fun, bonkers, and as mad as a guest at Alice in Wonderland’s Tea Party. They have four adult children who are providing grandchildren at a faster pace than they anticipated.
She is working on her first novel and expects to release it soon. She has been published in Canada, the US, and the UK. She has been successful with her writing of flash fiction. She won the Bloggers Flash Fiction award in 2017. She has also been shortlisted in two major international flash fiction competitions. She successfully finished a NaNoWriMo that is awaiting its completion. She has three works in progress, she says they are simmering in the background like grandmother’s stew.
Ellen joined me and twenty-five other writers and authors to have their work published in Dan Alatorre’s Dark Visions. The book is an anthology of horror short stories compiled from Dan’s Word Weaver Writing Contest last spring. The book has received excellent reviews and currently is being converted into an audiobook. Dark Vision is only available in the US, yet anticipated to be released in the UK sometime in 2019.
Ellen has previously posted her contribution to the Christmas Story Party on her website. Rather than duplicate the story, please use the link below. It is a fun story sure to give you a chuckle.
I invite you to leave your comments and join the party.
